Description
Scorpions is a legendary German rock band, founded in Hanover in 1965 and becoming one of the most successful and long-lived bands in the history of world rock music. The band is known for both its powerful hard rock songs and heartfelt ballads, which have captured the hearts of millions of listeners worldwide.
The band's founder and longtime leader is guitarist Rudolf Schenker, and the band's "golden voice" belongs to vocalist Klaus Meine, who joined the lineup in 1969. The Scorpions' path to worldwide fame was gradual: from the psychedelic rock of the early 70s, they moved on to classic heavy metal and hard rock in the 80s. Over the decades of their career, the musicians have released numerous hits that have become timeless anthems.
Their most recognizable composition, "Wind of Change," written by Klaus Meine inspired by the changes in the USSR, became a symbol of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Cold War. Other iconic Scorpions hits include "Rock You Like a Hurricane," the lyrical "Still Loving You" and "Maybe I Maybe You," and the energetic "Big City Nights."
To celebrate their monumental anniversary, the band has embarked on the world tour "Coming Home - 60 Years of Scorpions." One of the highlights of this tour will be the Scorpions concert in Abu Dhabi, which will take place at the Etihad Arena. The musicians will present a large-scale show spanning all six decades of their creative journey. The Scorpions concert in the UAE will be a unique opportunity for fans to hear the legendary riffs and vocals that shaped modern rock music live, in the atmosphere of one of the world's most technologically advanced venues.
