Scorpions: 60 Years of a German Hard Rock Legend

Scorpions are pioneers of German hard rock, founded in Hanover in 1965 by guitarist Rudolf Schenker. Over six decades, the band has become one of Europe's leading musical exports, selling over 100 million records worldwide and winning millions of fans on every continent.

The band's early years were a time of experimentation and sound exploration. Their debut album, Lonesome Crow, was released in 1972 and reflected the influence of psychedelic rock. During the 1970s, the Scorpions gradually heavier their sound, and with the arrival of Matthias Jabs in 1978, the classic lineup was formed, which led the band to worldwide fame.

The period from the late 1970s to the early 1990s became the golden era of the Scorpions. It was then that the hits "Rock You Like a Hurricane", "Still Loving You" and the legendary ballad "Wind of Change" appeared, which became a symbol of the end of the Cold War and one of the most recognizable rock anthems in history.

Despite the farewell tour announced in 2010, the Scorpions continued their career, releasing the album Rock Believer in 2022. In 2025, the band celebrated its 60th anniversary with a large-scale concert Coming Home in Hanover and the release of the live album Coming Home Live.
